The Times Square billboard that Peter Comber created.

AdAge put my concept on a Times Square billboard.

When AdAge asked the advertising and creative community to come up with ideas to support “March For Our Lives” I was among the many who responded.

Earlier this year AdAge (the leading global source of news, intelligence and conversation for marketing and media communities) debuted "The Brief," an ongoing feature asking the advertising and creative community to submit creative concepts about gun violence in the States. Following the shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, they partnered with the Gun Safety Alliance in a special edition of “The Brief” to support the students marching in Washington D.C and across the country during the March for Our Lives protest on March 24. The assignment was to; “create posters and social media imagery that will help amplify the March for Our Lives message”.

I responded with the concept above. Ad Age published my idea in their print magazine and online. The concept was selected, in rotation with a dozen others, for display on a digital billboard in Times Square, NYC and it was chosen, with three other concepts, to go on digital billboards that AdAge purchased nationwide.

March For Our Lives was the largest student protest in American history and I hope their significant number will help them to achieve their goals: universal background checks on all gun sales; raising to 21 the minimum age for gun ownership and possession; closing of the gun show loopholerestoration of the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban; a ban on the sale of high-capacity magazines in the United States.
